Fast forward to becoming a mom to a little boy who was not a good sleeper, I was really struggling and so was my baby. I knew there had to be a better way and I was determined to find it. I learnt everything that I could about infant sleep.
I graduated from Simon Fraser University with a BSc in general Biology. (Ironically , I also took a course all about sleep and circadian rhythms). I have been working as a Respiratory Therapist for the past 14 years. I enjoy patient care and working in a fast-paced hospital environment. Interestingly, this profession includes helping adults with sleep related disorders such as sleep apnea.
Once both of my boys were sleeping, I found myself offering advice and tips on healthy baby sleep habits to friends and family. I became passionate about sharing the tips I had learnt and helping other exhausted families. This passion led me to become a sleep consultant. I am a mom who truly understands the struggles and challenges related to baby sleep and I know that these struggles can be overcome. I look forward to helping families sleep again!
At 6 months, I applied the tips I had learnt and I sleep trained my son. In a matter of a week, my husband and I went from holding my son for EVERY nap, and waking up every 1-2 hours overnight, to a baby who slept 12 hours straight and took naps in his crib. We were shocked at how quickly his sleep improved. I was a happier and more patient mom, and my son was a thriving well rested 6 month old baby. When the second baby came around, I didn’t hesitate to apply everything I had learned.
As a pediatric sleep consultant, I understand that parents are seeking guidance and support during challenging times. By empowering them with evidence-based strategies and personalized advice, I hope to enable them to make informed decisions and take positive steps towards improving their child's sleep patterns. This value underscores my dedication to not only providing solutions but also helping families develop the confidence and skills necessary to navigate sleep-related challenges
With a commitment to the highest standards of expertise, ethics, and communication, I ensure that every family receives a thorough and well-informed consultation. From our initial contact to the development of personalized sleep plans, professionalism guides all my interactions.
As a mother of two, I intimately understand the challenges that sleep deprivation can bring to a family. This empathy drives me to provide not just solutions, but also a caring and understanding approach to every family's unique situation
